Soroptimist International Joondalup, in partnership with Edith Cowan University, has launched a new scholarship designed to support female-identifying students experiencing financial or personal disadvantage to succeed in their studies.
The Soroptimist International Joondalup and ECU Education Equity Scholarship reflects a shared commitment to improving access to education and empowering women through opportunity, support and financial assistance.
The scholarship will provide $2,000 per year for up to four years, helping students manage study-related costs and remain engaged in their university journey.
Soroptimist International is a global volunteer organisation committed to improving the lives of women and girls through education, empowerment and advocacy. Locally, Soroptimist International Joondalup has a strong history of supporting women’s education and pathways to economic independence.
The scholarship is open to female-identifying students who are Australian residents enrolled at ECU who demonstrate financial need or personal circumstances that impact their ability to meet the costs of study.
Applications will open on 1 September 2026 and close on 30 September 2026, with the successful recipient notified in November.
Applicants are encouraged to review the Scholarship Applicant Guidelines prior to applying.
This partnership highlights ECU’s ongoing commitment to equity and inclusion, and to working with community organisations to create meaningful opportunities for students.
