Edith Cowan University (ECU) is strengthening support for students experiencing financial pressures through a new partnership with the Financial Wellbeing Collective, delivering free, confidential financial counselling services on campus from 4 August.

The new service will provide ECU students with access to professional independent financial counsellors at both the Joondalup and City campuses, helping students navigate financial challenges and build confidence in managing their money. Online appointments will also be available for students who cannot attend in person.

With rising living costs continuing to impact many university students, the service is designed to offer practical support and advice tailored to individual circumstances. Financial counsellors can assist students to develop budgets, understand and manage debts such as credit cards and personal loans, access financial support services, and receive advocacy or debt negotiation assistance where needed.

The Financial Wellbeing Collective brings extensive experience in supporting people facing financial stress and is committed to helping individuals make informed financial decisions and access available supports.

Students can book a free appointment by emailing fws@unitingwa.org.au and including their preferred campus location in the subject line.

The service will commence on Tuesday 4 August and is available to all ECU students at no cost.
