Edith Cowan University (ECU) has launched a five-year partnership with the West Perth Football Club (WPFC). This collaboration aims to bring education, sport and community together through a shared commitment to increasing educational aspirations and creating inclusive communities.

The partnership will support a range of initiatives, including the WAFL and WAFLW Wellness Facility, a dedicated ECU Student Round, and a Pride Round. It will also enhance connections between ECU students and the community through sport and shared purpose.

“This collaboration is all about meaningful impact at the personal level in our community,” said Professor Sophia Nimphius, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Sport). “We’re excited to work alongside WPFC on initiatives that bring people together, open doors, and amplify voices that deserve to be heard.”

The partnership opens new opportunities for collaboration and connection, through an agreed charter based on our shared purpose. This includes co-designing and implementing a series of projects and community programs. The close engagement with WPFC also creates space for future student and staff involvement.

Together, ECU and WPFC are working to create more inclusive spaces – on the field, on campus, and in the wider community.

Don’t miss our first ECU x WPFC Student Round on Thursday 2 May at 7:00pm. Free entry for student card holders and fun activities throughout the night. Grab some mates, get around the game, and be part of the action!
