It’s time to say thank you and recognise the extraordinary work teachers and educators do every day this World Teacher’s Day.
Globally, World Teachers’ Day is held every year on 5 October. As this date usually falls during the school holidays in the southern hemisphere, Australia celebrates teachers on the last Friday of October each year.
This year, Australia will celebrate educators on Friday, 25 October, honouring the dedication, hard work and passion of teachers who play a crucial role in shaping the minds of the next generation.
By celebrating this day and showing our appreciation, we can help create a supportive and encouraging environment that allows teachers to thrive and continue making a positive impact.
Edith Cowan University (ECU) is incredibly proud to play a part in developing and shaping future teachers, as the longest serving teacher education institution in our State.
Over our 120-year history of developing educators to engage and inspire the next generation, ECU’s School of Education is the number one provider of teaching graduates to public schools in WA, offering students a breadth of choice, flexibility, and unique opportunities. ECU School of Education, Executive Dean Professor Caroline Mansfield said that the teachers of tomorrow choose ECU because the University is the leader in education and education research in WA and nationally.
“ECU’s School of Education is committed to equipping aspiring and practicing teachers with the skills, knowledge and experiences to positively impact the lives of students and communities,” Professor Mansfield said.
“This World Teacher’s Day, we thank and recognise all teachers who are transforming the lives of others through education.”
World Teacher’s Day is an opportunity to highlight the incredible educators across ECU, thanking them for what they do best, inspire, challenge, motivate, empower, and nurture.
Join us on this Friday, 25 October to thank them for everything they do, believing in their students and wanting to make the world a better place through education.
ECU’s School of Education has set up Thank You Post Boxes at each campus’ reception counter, where staff and students are encouraged to post a thank you note to an ECU educator.
