Are you going to be studying at WAAPA in 2025, and interested in bringing a student voice to important decisions?

The WAAPA Advisory Board provides the Executive Dean and the University Council with strategic advice in relation to the Academy. I am seeking Expressions of Interest from enrolled students at WAAPA to serve as the Student Member of the Advisory Board for a one-year term commencing on 1 January 2025.

If you are appointed as the Student Member, you will have the opportunity to bring a student perspective to the matters considered by the Advisory Board. In addition, Advisory Board membership provides an excellent opportunity for networking with influential community members.

The Advisory Board meets three times per year at the Mount Lawley Campus.

How do I express interest?

If you are interested in serving on the Advisory Board, please download the form from the downloads section of the Advisory Board web page.

The closing date for submission of Expressions of Interest is 5.00pm on Monday 7 October 2024. The form should be submitted by email to universitygovernance@ecu.edu.au.

What will happen next?

The Governance and Nominations Committee, a Committee of University Council will consider the Expressions of Interest received, and following consultation with the Executive Dean of WAAPA, will make an appointment recommendation to the University Council.

At it's meeting of Thursday 12 December 2024, the University Council will determine which Student Member is to be appointed. All students who have submitted expressions of interest will be advised of the outcome by email.

What if I have a question?

If you have any queries about the Advisory Board, or about the process for submission of Expressions of Interest, please contact the University Governance team, in the first instance, at universitygovernance@ecu.edu.au.
