Do you fully understand what The Voice to Parliament is, why it's important and how it's going to change Australia’s history?

If you missed the recent live event hosted by Australian National University, you can now watch the live recording to learn more about this important topic and hear from different perspectives.

What will the nation be asked this upcoming referendum?

A Proposed Law: to alter the Constitution to recognise the First Peoples of Australia by establishing an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice. Do you approve this proposed alteration?

Edith Cowan University supports recognising Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Constitution through the enshrining of a Voice to Parliament and is proud to advocate for a ‘Yes’ vote in the upcoming referendum.

Be the voice this country needs.

In 2020, ECU endorsed the Uluru Statement from the Heart, marking our ongoing commitment to walking alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, their families, and communities. Voice, treaty, and truth were the three themes embraced at ECU – with particular emphasis on political representation and decision making.

The University acknowledges that there will be diverse views on the Voice to Parliament within our community and remains committed to creating space for informed public debate that is respectful and true to our values.
