As part of ECU’s ongoing improvements in Office 365 governance, the University will soon apply a retention policy that will delete any chat messages in Microsoft Teams older than six months.
This will only apply to chat messages in private (1:1 chat) and group chats.
This will not apply to documents shared through chat, channel messages in a team workspace or the chat with self feature.
This change will be applied from 5pm on Monday, 12 December 2022.
You don’t need to do anything unless you wish to keep a record of the chat history.
You can export a copy of a chat using one of these methods.
