Do you have an old phone taking up space in a drawer? We know someone who really needs it.

A group of ECU students from refugee backgrounds or who came to Australia on humanitarian visas, are working with CARAD (Centre for Asylum seekers, Refugees and Detainees) and City Rotary to collect as many pre-loved smart phones as possible for a great cause.

CARAD would like to provide their clients who remain in detention, some for many years, a working smart phone to help them connect with the outside world.

Donated smart phones need to be unlocked and come with a charger. There is no need to worry about any remaining data on your phone as it can be easily removed. Here’s how:

If you have one or more phones (perhaps you can ask family, friends, colleagues and even enemies) for donation to this worthy cause, you can deliver them to students on Friday October 21 between 9.00am–11.00am and 1.00pm-3.00pm outside Building 32 on the Joondalup Campus.
