A big congratulations to the winner of the Special Edition ECU Matters giveaway, School of Nursing and Midwifery Lecturer, Kylie McCullough.

Kylie won two tickets to ARETHA on Friday 8 March.

"The ARETHA tribute concert was a collaborative display by incredibly talented artists," Kylie said.

"The band and five vocalists worked together to deliver an amazing performance. I was dancing in my seat!

"It was particularly touching to see the singers support each other during the event – you could see their emotion as they celebrated each other’s solos.

"I was also excited to see Auslan interpreters at a large concert. This is an important move towards more inclusive events. The enthusiasm and passion of the interpreters as they signed added another element to an impressive visual display."

ECU Joondalup Campus hosted the WA premiere of ARETHA, a powerful memoir that celebrated the life and music of the iconic Aretha Franklin. The event was part of Joondalup Festival 2024 and was showcased below the dramatic spikes of our Chancellery Building.
