Academic Pathway Programs

Academic Pathway Programs at ECU, known as UniPrep courses, prepare students for university study by teaching essential academic skills.

These programs offer a supportive learning environment and provide pathways to various undergraduate courses.

UniPrep Schools extend this support to over forty WA high schools, helping students in Years 11 and 12 access higher education.

Access and Inclusion

The Access and Inclusion service provides free, confidential support to students with disabilities, medical or mental health conditions, neurodivergence, or caregiving responsibilities.

Together with an Accessibility Adviser, students will identify any adjustments, supports or strategies to assist ECU in meeting their study needs.

Support may include academic adjustments for assessments or examinations, alternative format materials, assistive technologies, assistance communicating with academic staff and more.

Equity Projects

The Equity Projects team drives institution-wide strategic efforts to embed equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) across all aspects of university life at ECU.

Working collaboratively with schools and service areas, the team provides expert guidance, shapes policy and practice, and builds organisational capability. They lead visible, high-impact initiatives to promote a culture of inclusion and belonging, in areas including, but not limited to:

  • Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Response: Driving institutional approaches to prevent gender-based violence and strengthen support systems for those affected.
  • LGBTIQA+ Inclusion: Advancing inclusive policy, practice, and culture to recognise and support LGBTIQA+ staff, students, and communities.
  • Disability Access and Inclusion: Embedding accessibility and equity to ensure meaningful participation and equal opportunity for people with disability.
