Withdrawal and refunds
Remission of tuition fees
Withdrawal without financial penalty
If you withdraw from units or discontinue your course after the financial census date you are liable for the cost of those units.
However, if you can demonstrate special, compelling or compassionate circumstances that have impacted on your ability to complete the requirements of the unit and occurred after the financial census date you may be eligible for remission of fees.
To apply for remission of fees please fill out the Application for Withdrawal without Academic Penalty form.
- In order to be considered for Withdrawal without Financial Penalty, you must supply copies of independent documentary evidence to support the reason for your application.
- Applications must be made within 12 months of your withdrawal.
Withdrawal without academic penalty
Should you have remained enrolled after the academic penalty date and wish to apply for the financial penalty to be withdrawn, you must also submit the application to withdraw without academic penalty. This decision is required to be made prior to consideration for withdrawal without financial penalty.
Refund of unit fees
If you have remained enrolled in a unit after the financial census date, you are therefore liable to pay the tuition fees for the unit. If you believe you have adequate grounds to be considered for withdrawal without the financial penalty for the unit, you can apply for Withdrawal without Financial Penalty. If remission is granted, you may then be eligible to apply for a refund of fees paid up-front.
