Tom will present on ‘Authentic Learning Online: A Case Study from the World Health Organization’

Abstract
The well-established equivalence of classroom and online learning fails to address the issue that neither mode for instructional delivery maximizes learning. The keys to providing learners with opportunities to achieve higher-order learning objectives are authentic tasks and continuous embedded assessment and feedback. This session will describe how the World Health Organization is implementing an online learning program that meets these ambitious goals. As such it provides guidance for all of us in the design and implementation of online learning.
