Mobile phones

Mobile phones and SIM cards are available for ECU staff upon manager approval.

ECU mobile phone plans are held with Optus and include unlimited national calls, voicemails, SMS and MMS, 15 GB data per month, and  international calls to 32 countries   . These are charged at $27 per month on a 24-month plan. Data only plans see the iPads and tablets page for more information.

Requesting a new mobile service

Prior to requesting a new mobile phone or SIM card you need to complete an ATO-FBT declaration form, and read the Purchase and Use of Mobile Telephones and Other Subscriber Devices Policy.

Once completed, please visit our mobile phones page on the IT Services Kiosk to place your order.

Setting up a new mobile device

Instructions on how to set-up your mobile device for email and WiFi, please refer to the following userguides:

The request will be sent to your manager for approval and, once approved, your request will be processed by ITSC staff.

Returning an ECU Mobile Device

If you are leaving ECU or moving to another area within the University you will need to backup and clear the data from your mobile device before returning it to your line manager.

If your School or Service Centre no longer requires an ECU purchased mobile device please contact optusmobile@ecu.edu.au
