Visitor accounts and access

Contractors, consultants and visitors to ECU may require access to certain services within ECU.

Staff and students from participating institutions can connect to eduroam using existing credentials from their home institution. If you are already using eduroam at your home institution, you should automatically connect when you come on campus at ECU. If you are unsure, contact the IT department at your home institution prior to visiting ECU.

Guest access

If you are not a staff member or student of another tertiary institution, you can connect to the ‘ECU Guest Wifi’:

  • Select 'ECU Guest Wifi' in the wireless settings;
  • Click 'Register here' and follow the prompts;
  • Your login details will be sent to the email address provided;
  • Login to the ECU Guest Wifi using the details sent to you via email.

If you have followed the steps above and still cannot connect to the ECU Wireless Network, please contact the IT Service Desk on +61 8 6304 6000.

Campus access induction

Should you have been invited, or have successfully tendered, to undertake work for ECU you are required to first satisfactorily complete the University's online Campus Access Induction.  It must be performed by each individual and cannot be delegated or performed on behalf of another person. Upon completion you will receive a unique induction number and a photo ID which you must carry at all times when working on campus.

PLEASE NOTE:
Completion of the 'Contractor Induction' is a condition of entry to all ECU worksites.  Any failure to comply may constitute a breach of contract and any unauthorised person may be ejected from an ECU worksite.

The guidelines were last updated in November 2022.

ECU wayfinding and signage

The wayfinding strategy for Edith Cowan University focuses on the implementation of wayfinding principles through a suite of signs.  The ECU Wayfinding and Signage Manual outlines how and where the signs should be used, and how they should be designed and built in order to effectively implement the wayfinding strategy.

Car parking

Contractors may obtain a temporary parking permit by visiting the Campus Support Office located on each campus.
