HDR Skills Resources
A wide range of support is available to assist you on your research journey. HDR Communication Advisers support Higher Degree by Research (PhD, PhD–Integrated, and Master by Research) students with their writing, oral communication skills and research outputs in individual consultations and workshops.
Students (when logged in via their student credentials) can Book an appointment directly using an online system. More information is here. HDR Communication Advisers are available on Joondalup and Mt Lawley campuses or online via phone or MS Teams. Alternatively, you can email a question to hdrca@ecu.edu.au.
HDR Communication Advisers also offer a range of workshops aimed to develop HDR students’ research communication skills. Please visit the Training Workshops and Events Calendar for current offerings and further information.
HDR Skills Centre Canvas site
On admission to ECU, all HDR students are automatically given access to the HDR Skills Centre Canvas site. This site offers a range of self-access guides, tipsheets and videos designed specifically for ECU’s HDR students. If you have difficulty accessing this site, please email hdrca@ecu.edu.au.
The SOAR Centre
The SOAR Centre is open for one-to-one appointments with HDR students, Honours students and ECU research staff. SOAR Peer Advisers can assist with a range of research software including NVivo, Qualtrics, SPSS, STATA and R, plus support with research skills such as presentations, referencing, literature reviews, formatting documents and writing for publications.
