Applying

Exchange application deadlines:

Second Friday in January - For exchange in semester two
Second Friday in July - For exchange in semester one of the following year

Late applications may be considered

Step 1 - Check your eligibility

You can apply to go on student exchange if:

  • You are an ECU student in good academic standing;
  • You have a minimum WAM of 50; and
  • You are an undergraduate who has completed at least 60 credit points (however, you will need to successfully complete 120 credit points before you go); OR
  • You are a postgraduate at the start of your ECU course (however you need to successfully complete 60 credit points before you can go)

Step 2 - Select a Partner Institution

Choose an overseas institution that you wish to study at.

Step 3 - Submit Exchange Student Application form

Download, complete and sign a Student Exchange Application form, making sure you understand and accept the conditions of participating in the Student Exchange Program. You can submit your exchange application to us by email or in person at the Student Hub

Step 4 - Obtain Overseas Study Credit Approval

As part of the application your Course Coordinator will need to approve the units you plan to enrol in at the overseas partner using the Overseas Study Credit Approval form. It is your responsibility to research the units offered at the partner institution and provide any documentation necessary to your ECU Course Coordinator for approval. Ultimately, ECU Course Coordinators approve the final study plan for the exchange period, thus ensuring that credit goes towards your ECU degree. The Overseas Study Credit Approval form must be submitted in order for you to be formally approved to go on exchange but may be submitted at a later date to your application form.
