The Faculty Learning Advisers can help you to develop your academic literacy, language and study skills such as:

  • Assignment planning and structure
  • Time management
  • Research and note taking
  • Academic reading and writing
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Paraphrasing and referencing
  • Assignment presentation
  • Exam preparation and revision
  • Oral presentations and group work
  • Writing a postgraduate thesis
  • Postgraduate study skills

Our services

  • Undergraduate and postgraduate-by-coursework small group and one-on-one consultations, Monday to Friday, at Joondalup Campus via an email booking system. Sessions can be booked for 15 to 30 minute time slots depending on the assistance required
  • Undergraduate and postgraduate consultations are also offered on Mount Lawley Campus, Building 13.106D by appointment
  • Consultations for external students via email or telephone. A booked consultation time is still required
  • Small group consultations can be booked by a group of students with common assessment questions/needs
  • Discipline-specific workshops tailored for Schools within the Faculty as well as general workshops are available
  • Add-on academic literacy instruction is provided within course units

You can make a booking by emailing the designated Learning Adviser for your study area with your name, student number, course and unit information and assistance required.
