The University's commitment to equity is reinforced through the operation of a number of committees which focus on equity issues.

The committees report through ECU's governance and senior management structures, advise on the implications of University policies and practice and inform institutional responses to equity and disability policy initiatives by government and other external agencies.

Equity Committee

The Equity Committee provides a forum for developing high level advice to the Vice-Chancellor on all matters of significance related to equity issues.

Disability Access and Inclusion Sub-Committee (DAISC)

DAISC provides advice to the Equity Committee on services and facilities for people with disabilities.  This committee has a role in developing and monitoring the University's Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP).

Indigenous Consultative Committee (ICC)

The ICC is a forum providing high level advice to the Equity Committee on matter which impact on ECU's service provision, outcomes and reputation in relation to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.

Vice-Chancellor's Reconciliation Committee

The Reconciliation Committee monitors the implementation and progress of the ECU Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP)

Indigenous Employment (Development & Implementation) Sub-Committee

This committee provides advice to the Equity Committee on methods for increasing the employment and retention of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.
