Integrated Risk Management Framework

The purpose of the University’s Integrated Risk Management framework is to support the Council, University Executive, Schools and professional services centres to make effective decisions, based on a holistic understanding of the risks and opportunities; and ultimately support the achievement of the University’s strategic objectives.

The University recognises that:

  • risk is inherent in all academic, administrative and operational activities at the University;
  • risk management is an integral part of good governance and management practice; and
  • considered and structured risk-taking is required to achieve the University’s strategic objectives.

The University’s Integrated Risk Management Policy and Integrated Risk Management Guidelines provide a consistent approach to identifying and managing risk. The Guidelines outline the University’s risk management process and how risk management is to be conducted to embed it into ECU’s strategic and operational processes.
