Overview

Our Office of Governance Services oversees ECU's governance framework and comprises of Council and committee support, University-wide records management, student complaints, and communication with the ECU Student Guild. We also help ensure the smooth handling of committee business and effective decision-making to enhance governance arrangements. When necessary, we recommend changes to the ECU Act, Statutes and Rules, as well as provide an oversight of records and archives management, and handle FOI and other official information requests (e.g. the Ombudsman's Office).

Expressions of Interest - Council and Committees and Boards of Council

We welcome Expressions of Interest from community members willing to contribute to the governance of the University as an external member of Council or one of its committees or boards.  There are often specific skills required for a vacancy, but if you have an interest in governance and would like to help shape the direction of the University, please refer to the Expressions of Interest item which can be located from the Our Services page.

Records and Archives Management

The Records and Archives Management Services (RAMS) team takes on the role of the University's records management governance, administration, management, education, and regulation.

Our services

We provide a range of services including:

  • policy and legislation;
  • honorary awards;
  • freedom of information;
  • University Council and its committees and boards;
  • elections;
  • recordkeeping; and
  • University archives.
