The University Archives supports research, teaching, scholarships and other objectives of the University.
Established in 1983, the Archives is responsible for the administration, preservation, appraisal and destruction of non-current official records. Located on the Joondalup campus, it makes available the historically valuable records and papers of the University and its predecessors, dating back to 1902.
The holdings of the Archives repositories include long- and short-term temporary records, as well as permanent records of faculties, schools, institutes and other University bodies. Records of student bodies, including the Guild, clubs and societies, personal papers and memorabilia from the alumni and former students, are located and maintained under appropriate arrangements.
Enquiries about the deposit of items, requests to consult records, or enquiries about the history of the University, the former Western Australian College of Advanced Education (WACAE), and the former Teacher Colleges, should be directed to the Senior Records Management Officer.
Visits to the Archives by staff, students and the general public are welcome, as are donations of material. Access to the Archives office is restricted to Wednesdays by arrangement only.
