Coverage and conditions
SOE Printers will be supported by ITSS.
ITSS will provide network connection, software integration and installation of printer drivers. In the event of a hardware failure, or suspected hardware failure, ITSS will provide a preliminary diagnosis and make a recommendation for external hardware support to be sort. It will be responsibility of the department owning the equipment to coordinate the hardware support request with the Manufacturer/Supplier. It is expected the responsibility for hardware fault resolution will remain with the manufacturer or supplier.
Useful Life & Refresh Period
SOE printers have a maximum useful life of 5 years, taken from the date of purchase. Once a printer has reached the end of it's useful life, it must be refreshed. As noted below, printers older than 5 years will not receive support from ITSS under the ITSC IT Service Level Agreement.
IT Support Services (ITSS) require all new purchases of printer hardware include warranty coverage with their purchase to provide coverage until such time the printer is either decommissioned or reaches the end of it's useful life, whichever comes first.

The installation and/or maintenance of NON - SOE printer equipment less than 5 years old will be charged at $100/hour or part there of, with a minimum 1 hour charge. Support for non-SOE printer hardware and software will be provided on a 'best effort' basis. In addition, to be eligible for support:
- Local and Network printers must have printer drivers available that support the current ECU SOE operating systems; and
- For Network Printers, they must have support for the TCP/IP network protocol
In the event of a hardware failure, or suspected hardware failure, ITSS will provide a preliminary diagnosis (charges as above applicable) and make a recommendation for external hardware support to be sort. It will be responsibility of the department owning the equipment to coordinate the hardware support request with the Manufacturer/Supplier. It is expected the responsibility for hardware fault resolution remains with the Manufacturer/Supplier of the printer.
