Coverage and conditions
SOE Printers will be supported by ITSS.
ITSS will provide network connection, software integration and installation of printer drivers. In the event of a hardware failure, or suspected hardware failure, ITSS will provide a preliminary diagnosis and make a recommendation for external hardware support to be sort. It will be responsibility of the department owning the equipment to coordinate the hardware support request with the Manufacturer/Supplier. It is expected the responsibility for hardware fault resolution will remain with the manufacturer or supplier.
Useful Life & Refresh Period
SOE printers have a maximum useful life of 5 years, taken from the date of purchase. Once a printer has reached the end of it's useful life, it must be refreshed. As noted below, printers older than 5 years will not receive support from ITSS under the ITSC IT Service Level Agreement.
Warranties
IT Support Services (ITSS) require all new purchases of printer hardware include warranty coverage with their purchase to provide coverage until such time the printer is either decommissioned or reaches the end of it's useful life, whichever comes first.
Non-SOE Printers less than 5 years old
The installation and/or maintenance of NON - SOE printer equipment less than 5 years old will be charged at $100/hour or part there of, with a minimum 1 hour charge. Support for non-SOE printer hardware and software will be provided on a 'best effort' basis. In addition, to be eligible for support:
- Local and Network printers must have printer drivers available that support the current ECU SOE operating systems; and
- For Network Printers, they must have support for the TCP/IP network protocol
In the event of a hardware failure, or suspected hardware failure, ITSS will provide a preliminary diagnosis (charges as above applicable) and make a recommendation for external hardware support to be sort. It will be responsibility of the department owning the equipment to coordinate the hardware support request with the Manufacturer/Supplier. It is expected the responsibility for hardware fault resolution remains with the Manufacturer/Supplier of the printer.
External print servers & wireless connections
ITSS will not provide support for connecting to and using printers where the connection is being achieved by either;
- a wireless connection, or
- an external print server or similar device
Printers older than 5 years
Printers older than 5 years old are not covered under this agreement and will not be supported by ITSS.
SOE Printer purchasing instructions
To purchase a printer contact our preferred supplier Ricoh Australia, By using the ECU Preferred Supplier, the terms and conditions of both supply and pricing has already been negotiated for you, so there is no requirement to obtain additional quotes. However, you will need contact the preferred supplier to obtain the most recent pricing. If you are considering purchasing a Ricoh Black and White or Colour Multi-Function Centre, you are strongly advised to contact the preferred supplier to get a better understanding of your requirements and find which Ricoh Copier-Printer-Scanner or MFD is best for your situation.
