Opportunities for research candidates

It is important to consider opportunities that will improve your research skills and enhance your research project. Developing and reviewing your MyPLAN learning plan with your supervisors will allow you to highlight the skills you already bring to the research project and identify the areas that need further development. From there you may seek out opportunities that allow you to build your skills.

Whilst research training workshops and special events offer targeted skill development, you may also consider expanding your knowledge and experience through other opportunities such as employment, travel or industry collaboration.

The tool below directs you to opportunities that exist in addition to the regular research training events offered at ECU.

Each link will be updated as opportunities become available, please check back regularly.

With the support of an ECU scholarship, we want to help you realise your ambitions and reach your destination. Scholarships for both current and future students aim to help you successfully complete your research journey by improving your financial situation.

More information

During your research journey you may identify opportunities to travel interstate or overseas to attend conferences, for data collection or field work or to collaborate with other researchers. Such opportunities may enhance your research, further develop your skills and expand your career prospects.

Visit the Research travel page for information about research travel opportunities, including AsiaBound and other research travel grants.

From time to time our schools seek prospective master by research or PhD candidates to undertake research projects on a particular topic. These may be individual projects or collaborations with other institutions or industry partners. In some cases, the projects may also include funding opportunities such as scholarships.

These projects may be of interest to prospective research candidates, and honours or masters by research candidates looking to pursue a doctoral degree.
