Edith Cowan University’s research activities are supported by four distinct systems:
ECU Research Management System (ECURMS) is the University’s research grants administration system, and supports all aspects of the application and award processes for externally-funded and centrally administered research grants and other research funding.
Research Activity System (RAS) is the University’s research outputs administration system. It facilitates the collection and review of research outputs and the reporting of research performance data for internal and external purposes.
Research Ethics Management System (REMS) is the University’s online ethics system. All research and research-related activity is tested via the Proportional Review Checklist to determine the activity’s most appropriate review pathway.
The Research Administration Systems Reference Group (RASRG) acts as a collaborative forum for Schools and Service Centres that have a common interest in the efficient operation and continuous improvement of research administration.
Established in December 2012, its primary function is to provide oversight and effective integration of the University's research administration systems and associated operations and initiatives to optimise service delivery and resource use in accordance with ECU priorities.
The Terms of Reference of the RASRG outline its role, responsibilities, composition and operation. The RASRG operates within the University's ICT Governance Framework and reports to the University's Research and Higher Degrees Committee.
RASRG membership is comprised of representatives from Research Services and the Research Services systems team, DCS, Services Centres and Associate Deans (Research).
RASRG meetings are held on a quarterly basis.
