Teaching at ECU: Getting Started - PDC111
This 3 hour workshop enables new teaching staff to quickly understand ECU’s aims in teaching and learning. The course focuses on key policies and procedures, University aims, and the facilities and services associated with teaching and learning at ECU.
You can choose to either attend the workshop, held regularly at the beginning of each semester, or complete the training online via the Blackboard community site. There are a range of activities designed to support your learning.
Who should participate in PDC111
All new teaching staff at ECU are required to attend, regardless of your prior teaching experiences.

To gain access to the PDC111 Community Site in Blackboard:
- Log into blackboard.ecu.edu.au
- On the left-hand side of the Home tab, find the Community Site Search module.
- Type in PDC111 and click the Go button.
- PDC111 is listed in the Browse Organisation Catalogue page.
- Click on the double arrow icon beside 465 (The Organisation ID).
- Click Enroll
- Click the Submit button.
You now have access to PDC111 and can find it listed under My Communities on the Blackboard Home tab.
