Teaching Online @ ECU - PDC114
This course will enable staff teaching online units to develop an understanding of, and relevant skills in, the principles, techniques and practices of effective online learning and teaching. It involves 5 hours of formal and informal learning activities.
On completion of PDC114, participants will be able to:
- effectively coordinate and deliver off-campus units;
- structure sites within a learning management system that can support online learning;
- apply appropriate scaffolds and supports for student learning in online settings;
- successfully manage and moderate student online communications and activities using appropriate activities with collaborative and communication tools;
- support effective online learning activities; and
- follow ECU policies and procedures in the delivery of online units.
To gain access to the PDC114 Community Site in Blackboard:
- Log into blackboard.ecu.edu.au
- On the left-hand side of the Home tab, find the Community Site Search module.
- Type in PDC114 and click the Go button.
- PDC114 is listed in the Browse Organisation Catalogue page.
- Click on the double arrow icon beside 417 (The Organisation ID).
- Click Enroll
- Click the Submit button.
You now have access to PDC114 and can find it listed under My Communities on the Blackboard Home tab.
