Equity and diversity

One of the key values that we hold at ECU is respect: valuing individual differences and diversity. There are a number of resources that will support you in pursuing equity and diversity in your work.

Equal opportunity online

You are encouraged to complete our online Equal Opportunity (EO) training program. This interactive program provides a comprehensive overview of EO principles, legislative responsibilities, and information about actual case studies to highlight the application of EO laws and responsibilities. The program has two learning modules and it is recommended that all staff complete Module One and managers and supervisors complete both Module One and Module Two.

Please fill in the User Registration and Feedback form at the end of the modules as this will facilitate the Centre for Learning and Development to update your training history.

Access the training program from our EO Online web page.

For more information about this program, contact Rebekah Aspinall on 6304 2714 or Lesley Roza on 6304 2362.

Workplace mental health guide launched

President of the Australian Human Rights Commission, Cathy Branson QC, launched Workers with mental illness: a practical guide for managers. The guide has been released after extensive consultation with the business community, trades unions, disability organisations, workplace safety bodies and employers.

The guide is available online from the Australian Human Rights Commission website.

Flinders University online resources

The Cultural Diversity and Inclusive Practice (CDIP) Toolkit developed by Flinders University provides useful insight on practising and providing a culturally inclusive environment. These folios on different cultures and religious identities may help to promote mutually respectful relationships, monitor your own practice for strengths and identify areas for development.

For more information, visit the Flinders University - Cultural Diversity and Inclusive Practice toolkit website.
